Strange thing when water droplets started spitting from left centre air vent, occasionally. Was out during the day with the car running around when it happened again & felt the AC was not blowing as cold, but just better than normal air. At the time, as I'm still running the car in after putting it back together from a re-spray, just thought I must have a leak in the system.

After lunch, realised I had lost left side speakers on the stereo, took it out & after fiddling about with ISO connector a little, got sound from left side again. A little later, stopped for coffee(& a sugary treat, I might add!) & when I got back in the car, the stereo was now dead!

Obviously, as soon as I got home, had to inspect  What happened was, the evaporator chamber drain behind stereo was clogged

So, it gets worse. Apparently, the water had nowhere to go but leaked wherever it could & some of it was dripping onto the stereo(my perfectly good Becker which I was quite happy with) & most probably ruined it :pale: Not sure if it has also ruined my Bluetooth module as also in the same compartment.

I found this out by removing the stereo, & by means of blowing through a flexible pipe into the tunnel drain, which was good, then took off the elbow pipe drain, also good. Then blew into the heater matrix drain hole, & this felt like I was blowing into a water tank as I could here the bubbles of air. As soon as I removed the pipe, water came running down just like an open tap

Anyhow, thought I'd share this experience with anyone who has AC, to be aware.

I do believe it’s not just a problem on AC cars but can happen to all of them right up to the 968

Could be. Although I assume that AC would be the worst, as the Evaporator creates a lot of condensation(especially in humid climates) as opposed to the heater radiator, which helps evaporation.
