Any suggestions/advice?

Some can be dismantled and cleaned out, check all the connections first before replacement

Think the 944 ones are more sensible in price, the 968 one is nearly 200 quid

Have you removed the pump yet?

Yes. When I give it power, it's a dead short.

Did you have to remove the tank?

No. pop up headlights & you can just about reach down & with a few tugs, pull out.

Why does the 968 have such a mad price? Porsche taking advantage!?

The only difference is the pump in the 968 has a washer water level sensor in it, a little float in a tube, and one more terminal

Crazy price indeed, I have two spares, which I made up out of bits from other owners disasters of snapping bits off

I had the headlamp up, couldn't get a grip on the pump to pull it up. Even with grips on the terminals :(. Let us know how the ebay pump works out.

TBH, my assistant did this. He didn't actually grasp the pump as he couldn't reach it, but as we felt the pump was dead after checking power/earth, he plugged connector back on & managed to tug it & pull the pump out by means of the wire & connector.

So, most prob will be another experiment  fitting new one in...will keep you posted.
