Tidying up the Engine Bay a bit, noticed there was a Badge [944.104.464.00] missing.. ..which I purchased, and was about to fit when.. ..I noticed that perhaps the M5 bolts had nothing to thread in to..? Does anyone else have this badge etc. and wouldn't mind checking if their Bolts have Nuts..? |

Also noticed that this Rubber Hose/Cover is perished and exposes the cables somewhat.. What does this electrical unit do..? Is it part of the Variocam Electrics..? |

Ok so under the Porsche fuel rail cover there should be two small M5 bobbins that have female hole at the top and a male thread that screws into the cam cover These have a habit of falling to bits and your left with what looks like two washers with a bit of rubber stuck to them These will need removing I got mine out by tapping the washer round with a blunt very small cold chisel The two bobbins from Porsche are 999 703 388 00 @ £26.20 each They are 18x15 M5 I would buy these from www.avindustrialproducts.co.uk for about £2 each plus post If your stuck I probably have a few around somewhere |

That is known as AMP or Junior timer connection The can be bought with 2,3,5,7 connections in both male and female That is the same as a fuel injector connector, you have 3 of these on the engine plus 4 for the injectors, and one for the crank sensor, I would also take a bet that the cam position sensor plug is about to fall to bits as well (3 pins) So back on my fav hunting ground for bits, the bay of fleas, brandshatch performance sell all these connectors, good quality and good service at a decent price Bet the boot is also split on the blue dme temp sensor under the Top hose, so order enough and replace |

Proof that the 968 was going to be a 944 (S3), the variocam badge has a 944 part number |
