I am trying to find the seal that goes round the sunroof lid? I can see the seal on the parts diagram that is on the car (e.g.goes round hole and roof lining) but the parts diagram just says "lid" and does not mention the rubber seal round the lid. Is this part obtainable?

Yes, part number 944 564 114 05 (might have been superseded by 06 now?)

Seal extrusions on ebay sell 944 seals, I got a boot seal from them recently and it fitted fine. Unfortunately I'd already paid the Porsche tax and bought my sunroof seals from the dealer. The internal seal is a standard seal type that can be picked up at any good auto store or seal manufacturer.

Also try here - you can match up the seal to the profile pictures and size information -

why are you replacing the seals ?

i was warned not to do mine when i first got the car many years ago.
They said the roof would never fit flush again, I should have listened.

funnily enough...I put on OEM seals...and the roof is very tight....have to get it a couple of bangs with the hand to get it flush....18 months on and it is still the same...maybe 1mm or so too wide? But better than too small.......

I don’t think they ever shrink, I put a used one on my car, so no issues, the fella I got it off when he changed his 4 years ago still struggles to get it flush with a thump or two

I fitted the OE sunroof seals to mine and made sure the edges were perfectly clean - I did it in the house so everything was warm and made sure I pushed the seal onto the sunroof firmly. Never had an issue with it getting stuck or sitting proud of the roof, fits perfectly.
