Good news. You're never far away from the AFM when running rich although there can be many causes. I ditched my AFM years ago for a MAF set-up and haven't looked back.

Thanks Stuart - I think getting a MAF might be a slippery slope I don't want to go down just yet :shock:

I think I may send the injectors off to injectortune in the next week or so as it is £12.50 per injector + postage so isn't going to cost a huge amount and then I will know if they are good or bad.

Only other possibilities are the TPS and ISV I think so should hopefully crack it soon! :)

Phew :lol: well the TPS checked out OK thank god!

http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/fuel-06.htm

DME readings
Closed = 1 Ohm (0 - 10 Ohms)
Open = infinity

KLR readings
Closed = 0.57 k-ohms (320 - 670 ohms)
Fully Open = 4.07 k-ohms (2.7 - 4.7 Kohms)

Although I did find a procedure for cleaning it out if it was faulty - http://www.arnnworx.com/catalog/index.p ... &chapter=1

Next job is to replace the o2 sensor and set the idle mixture

:D I looked at those - our american cousins seem to have a lot more issues with dryed out seals than we do in the UK - I guess that is the difference in climates.

Oh ours a dried out and worn too, but being a fiddly difficult job that requires counting past 10, we don’t bother
