Hi guys,

My 1st post here, and unfortunately it's a regretful cry for help and advice!

I have a 944 2.5 na that I have been restoring for the last 3 and a half years, absolutely everything mechanical has been replaced including every sensor and relay, the whole fuel system is new including pipework, the afm has been tested at bba reman and found no faults.

The problem is it starts from cold but after around 5 mins if you accelerate it splutters, sometimes it dies and is hard to start, it also smells rich.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers
Darren

Air flow meter or something around it, like hose leaking.

Hi Jim
Thanks for your reply, air flow meter has been tested as was going to get it refurbished if found faulty but it came back no faults found!

I will check all hoses again but i've had the engine bay to bits so many time's and not found anything!

It could be the blue temp sensor telling the ECU to run the cold map

Dme temperature sensor was recently replaced.

I'm thinking it could be either the idle control valve or the wiper track in the afm needs adjusting? I know I've just had it tested to see if it was working but they didn't set it up!

just because it was replaced does not make it fine, there is a test proceedure on clarkes that tell you what resistance to expect at what temp

I tested it before I fitted it and used 1 hot cup of water and 1 cold cup.
