I have recently moved to a new location and may have to leave my 944 oustside on occasions - maybe not every night but enough to warrant some sort of cover against the weather and paint fade.

I seen the Parr Stromforce Porsche cover advertised and wonder if anyone has any experience of these covers?

Would also appreciate any alternative recommendations ))

Yet are far better off having 3 coats of decent wax and keeping any drains clear.

Do you have any advice on the covers?

The car is regularly detailed with Carnauba wax - I'm not asking for advice on polishing etc....

Been there and done that and my advice is don’t cover a car outdoors.

If you are going to through with it, you need something that fits like a glove. Loose covers rubbing on paint can cause a lot of damage.

I'm aware of the issues of using a cover. OTOH you can get a lot of damage b not haing a cover )

Some nights I will have to leave the car on my driveway - so a cover will also help keep the car from prying eyes a nd hopefully other temptatioons involving keys.....

I know some covers get ripped or blown away by the wind. I want something of reasonable quality - not flimsy plastic crap

Hi Red Rider,

I bought an outdoor cover from http://www.covercraft-europe.com - I think it was the "Evolution" version - they have different fabrics to suit your environment. they are made in the US I believe.

I kept my Cab outdoors for about 18 months and this kept it in great condition.

Its breathable and has a soft lining so it doesnt scuff the paintwork and they are allegedly made to measure for the car - it was a pretty good fit.

Not cheap though - I think around £230!

The car is in the garage now so the cover is packed away for another time.

Keyed paint without cover or blistering paint with cover ....... choices, choices. I have an expensive custom fit cover. Rarely ever use it. It blistered the paint.....

Thanks for input. Seems it's a no win situation using a cover. As no one seems familier with the PARR cover or suggess any alternative - I'll take a gamble with that as it's only going to be occasional usage.

Right now it's sunny out and unfortuneatly it's shining on my car as there is no shade area here......... ))
