Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has seen some repair panels around for the rear quarter - the dreaded area around the battery tray.
I''ve seen a really good guide from someone tackling a DIY job on the porsche club gb forum - due to the fab work required to shape a repair piece with the channel etc. they opted to get a donor panel from a breakers.

Given the condition of most of the second hand rear quarters I don''t think I'll get lucky and find a good one.
1 - Do you guys know a good source of use panels / a good breakers?
2 - Has anyone seen any repair panels for this area - the only stuff i've found is fiberglass.

Thanks!

Never seen any repair panels for this area let alone ones that aren't fibreglass. I think your best bet might well be tracking down a breaker on eBay. There's a couple about and from the pictures the rears don't look too bad.

Cheers, I've called a few places. If i can get a good donor it'll be cheaper as that will take a few hours to fabricate.

Thanks for your advice! Hope everyone is enjoying their 944s in the good weather :)

I'd think you would have a fair bit of work anyway as the rear of the car is almost a single piece. What ever you find will have to be cut out and cut in to the new car. Maybe post up a picture of the area? Someone on here might have been through the same process??

There was a whole shell on Ebay the other day for £99. It didn't sell. I reckon the guy world cut the rear quarter off for you and scrap the rest for that price. Douglas Valley breakers have dozens of 944s so should be able to cut one out for you, I also know of a guy in Norwich breaking one who may be willing to do a cut if it's not rotten.

If you're on Instagram there is a guy called porsche_spares_uk who has a whole non-rusty shell for sale at £250. He put up his contact number as 07876 174455. Never used the bloke but thought it might be of help.
