I once read a fellow forum member(not sure which forum) fitted a Circoli Water Pump on a 968 which was still going strong after 10000 miles. It was well under a £100 from Eurocarparts.

Unfortunately can't find it!

Touching wood here, but my car still has the water pump from when I bought it 10years/20k miles ago. And there's no record in the service history of when it was changed before that. I'll be changing the belts/rollers soon, so I'll check the bearing then. 20k is nothing on most cars, and I share the opinion that the usual tension routine makes the belt too tight when the engine expands, and that wears the pump bearing prematurely.

It worth giving Max at Frazerpart a call anyway. I was really happy with what I got from him.

Belts are all done now and a good 500miles added to the car since. Love driving this car.

I'm in Malta, so sny other way I can get in touch with them online?

I'll hazard a guess that the ECP / CP4L water pump will be Circoli, don't think there are any other brands other than those already mentioned.

As a side note - I was checking yesterday and noticed that they now have a Lucas rebuilt A/C compressor listed for the 944 at £260! - If it is anything like my Lucas rebuilt alternator then this is a great buy.

The strange thing, I've found the pump at ECP & CP4LESS(much better price) both state the pump brand as "Aftermarket " Also checked with the chat help.

So not sure if they would send Circoli which is what I want.

As mentioned to Waylander, they only confirm the brand for the pump as "Aftermarket "

The price for the Lucas rebuilt compressor is reasonable. Unfortunately, I have not heard positive comments about them.

Has anyone used the "Aftermarket" water pump from Eurocarparts/Carpartsforless?

Chat help cannot tell me where the product is made; I have to call one of their local stores who stock for someone to physically check :?:

Yes, pic is generic, so cannot rely on that.

With discount today, CP4L is just over £76, which is incredible value. Another £10 to send to me here in Malta. But would like to know it is made in Germany at least.

Really appreciate if you manage.

I Have asked, but for £70 does it really matter, for £200 i would want it gold plated for heat distribution.

I do know a man here that rebuilds them with a full warranty for £100

Very true. Only I don't want a rubbish pump that might fail prematurely. At least as you bought with made in Germany, there is some peace of mind.

You asked, what did they say?

I've just received one from CP4less and its a Uro pump. Was for a 2.5 8v though.

Looks good, castings are neat, metal impeller and even came with a gasket. They were doing the front seals for pretty cheap as well.

Anyone got a set of belt tools for hire  ?

Brian

Does it say where it's made; is it branded Aftermarket on the order?
