I've always liked the look of Fuch wheels on a 944 and I browse eBay now and again in the hopes of finding a bargain set. Fat chance! they're lovely but out of my price range.

Has anyone had any experience of these wheels?

I was looking at these for my car:

I personally prefer the matt finish. The 9" rears should fill the rear arches nicely!

If they are TUV approved they should be good quality.

Thanks, I'll ask them about TUV approval as the description doesn't go into much detail.

Yep, the 9s should look great. Won't be doing it for a month or so but if I do I'll post them up.

Depends if your car is early or late offset to which Fuchs / reps will fit. Wheel ET is as key to fitment as the width, diameter and tyre size.

Reps are heavy compared to forged originals. Some heavier than others.

Many years ago D911 suggested a set of 7+8'' reps would fit my 924T. Had I bought them I would have been very disappointed about the rears fouling my cars rear arches. I'd help but not sure which 944 you have. Use early and late 944T fuchs and tellies as reference point for whether they will fit your car. There are early and late offset/ET reps out there

Thanks for the advice, I have a 89 2.7 so late offset. I'm close enough to Design911 for it to be viable to drive to so I'd take the car to them if I were to go ahead. Weight is a very good point, but I guess thats why the reps are a lot cheaper. Would love a set of originals but I haven't seen a reasonable set for under £1500 or so that don't need refurbing.

BTW saw your car at Classics on the Common in Harpenden many years ago... absolutely epic. :bounce:

The 16'' reps are all early offset and might poke out too far subject to suspension, height, camber and tyres? The 17'' reps are late offset on D911. I'm not so up to speed on 944 fitments.

Might be helpful? http://www.tipec.net/_forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=23315

Yes, very helpful! Those are the sizes I was thinking of getting! Seems that despite Design911's drop down menu for what car they fit these do not bolt straight on. I don't want to go down the spacers route so its back to eBay and saving up!

You don't need spacers, but there is nothing wrong with spacers to adjust fit as long as they are hub centric and good quality. Definitely not 5x 2mm washers inside a spacer!! . Just the right late offset and big enough diameter to clear the callipers

It's a real shame that the staggered 16" reps aren't available in a late offset as they have and original look with the deep rim.
The D911 17s look OK but I would prefer 16s on my car.

Not from Design 911 however my 7" & 9" x 17" Fuch replicas are of a great quality & I didn't recall them being overly heavy.

I purchased mine from here: https://www.randr-alloys.co.uk/classic- ... plica.html

They look great, especially with the satin rim. 8)
I assume yours are 9" rear and 7" front, ET 50.
Did you source the centre caps separately?
Also what tyre sizes would you recommend?

I used the centre caps supplied however I sprayed them with satin black before fitting them as the chrome looks wrong in my opinion, I also used my existing black alloy wheel nuts.

Yes 7 & 9" with 225/45/17 front 255/40/17" rear tyres fitted. I also needed a 5mm shim on the front axle to clear my calipers however I know of somebody with an S2 and he needed 7mm shims and had to fit longer studs....

Lovely car. :hello1: Sure I've seen this in a mag at some point? Very nice.

Thanks for the link, if only they did 16"s. My memory might be making more of it than I can remembered but drove a 944 with 17"s on and it wasn't my cup of tea at all handling wise... not casting aspersions at those that have 17"s!
