hi all

Call me stupid but im searching for my engine number and all i can see is M44.MF where i think my engine code should be. looking on the log book my code is nothing like this.

Can any one advise what this M44.MF means as ive searched online and found nothing.

Secondly can anyone tell me where i can find the code thats in the log book to check the correct blocks in the car?

I have a 1988 2.7 lux (F reg BTW) and sorry if this questions been asked a million times before.

Thanks

I don't know the answer but could it be a replaced engine under warranty? May be it is a first generation of the 2.7 engine and a unique and more valuable test version....? ;-)

Mine has had a replacement engine, albeit someone put in a 3.0 16v in to replace the 2.5 16v. I'm not sure where the engine number should be on the 3.0 engine so perhaps someone knows that too.
