Has anyone actually repaired them before & what material is it?

Putting mine back in place when it came back from spray & driver's side not fitting flush on the last bolt closest to wheel. Can it be heated & bent back, to get back to original shape?

if you look closely all on the inside it should have a marking to what its made of

the 968 bumpers are PU/GF Polyeurthane / Glass Fibre

when you know what material it is google is your friend

I can't find anything that shows what material it is!?

Took it to a professional bumper repair shop & he said it was neither ABS or PP. Also sceptical whether it can take heat!

I'm dying to give it a go with a heat gun or maybe my Infra Red lamps as it only really needs to bend back in place some 8mm or so. But, afraid that I might do more damage!

They are pretty resistant to heat so you should be fine

I read on renlist that the parts have a sort casting memory, get them up to about 150 degrees and they return to original shape, no idea how true that is

I have straightened my side skirts and a my spare front bumper with a heat gun, but they are a bit ferocious

Hair dryer works too but takes ages to get it really hot

I think I'm gonna give it a go, maybe even use a kettle of hot water in addition to the heat gun to help spread the heat more.

It is a totally different material to the bumper/sill trims & much thicker, so that could be an issue :?:

i would think in the sun they possibly get to 60 degrees, depending on colour

Well, I gave it a shot & managed to get it much better! Not perfect, but very well acceptable.

Most probably, after I respray & tighten it up, any discrepancy will not be visible. Now fits back in place & not protruding outwards.

I used a combination of boiling hot water from the kettle, heat gun & I also have an Infra red heater, just like those used in body shops.

Thanks for your help.
