I stripped and cleaned my 16v alloy cam cover @ 18 months ago and painted it with Frost's crackle finish red paint. It looked great, very pleased. The paint is now all peeling off and lifting and looks a mess so today I have removed the cam cover again to strip it all off again :-(

I didn't use an etch primer as Frost instruction said I wouldn't need it - I think perhaps I do.
any recommendations for cam cover painting that stays on ?????
cheers

(PS not a fan of powder coating either)

Hi
I don’t know how keen you are on returning it to the orig, but I purchased a can from the US - the transit cost many multiples of the tin or paint but it is brilliant. Duplicolour is the brand.
