Good news - I have the car back.
Bad news - Still needs lots of work.

I'm going to do as much of it I can myself and have a garage quote me for completing some of the work in order for it to get an MOT.

Just typing up the whole story into something readable and will post in the recommendations section when sanity checked.

Hey kongsodoken :)

To get the car complete as far as assembly (and for MOT) - car is in dry storage currently as I'm about to move house so can't wait to get cracking once I've moved!

  • Finish assembly of doors - mirrors, glass, window mechanism, handles / locks, speakers / trim
  • Seals - check and fit door seals, rear hatch seal, sunroof seal, bonnet seals
  • Exterior trim - gutter trim, side trim, stone protection vinyl, badges / logos
  • Interior trim - secure carpet and interior switches, check switch wiring, secure rear view mirror to new windscreen (if not already done)
  • Check and replace bonnet / rear hatch struts

and I have an ever growing list of jobs I have planned for her after I've completed my house move -

  • Change Balance Shaft and Timing Belts (and tensioners)
  • Change Oil
  • Check thermostats
  • Change Coolant
  • Change Gearbox Oil
  • Fix Power Steering Leak
  • Check Steering Rods
  • Check Wheel Bearings
  • Check Control Arm Ball-joints
  • Check Rear Shock Absorbers
  • Check CV joints
  • Get Brake Calipers Refurbished
  • Change Brake Fluid
  • Drain Fuel?
  • Change Fuel Filter and run some injector cleaner through
  • Steam clean chassis? / Power wash
  • Underseal (Dinitrol / Bilt Hammer) - Sills, Wheel arches, Chassis
  • Aftermarket Boost Gauge
  • Aftermarket AFR Gauge

Might start a thread on the reassembly when I get going, kind of like a blog / diary of progress :)

Thanks!

Well the car is now sitting in my garage and I've spent 3 hours on Friday night sorting through the parts which were loose in the interior and making a note of any jobs I've overlooked.

I've also made a thread in the "Praise / Grumble" sub-forum with a detailed write-up of my experiences of SVP Motorsport.
