Is anyone using and can recommend an infloor, mid rise scissor lift? The garage floor is not suitable for a post and I don't want the intrusion of a post or suface mounted lift. The ones I'm looking at are Automotec AS 7532B or Twin-Busch YW3-10E. Similar priced and spec but surface mounted with a closed height of 110mm but 993 sill height is 110mm, 944 no prob. Quickjack won't lift high enough to drop 993 engine. Dunlop and others look good but too expensive or lift uneccesarily high.

Are you going to recess it into the floor or sit it on top?

Having looked into this after I built the garage -I know, I know! I found pretty much all of the mid rise lifts have a closed height of 110mm or above. If you don't recess, then you are a little bit stuffed for the 993 to be honest. The question to ask yourself and you need to be honest is how often you think you will be wanting to get the 993 on the lift. If it is more than the odd occasion then you will have no choice but to get out the concrete saw and jack hammer and have at it!

May I suggest that you log on to https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/ and use their search function for mid -rise lifts. Yes, its mainly US based but you will find a wealth of information on there which I am sure will be of use. I do recall a group buy of a mid rise lift which only needed about three people to make it worthwhile. Something to consider perhaps?

Missed a moment there Henry, how handy would a lift be right now

Don’t remind me! I could still fit a two post lift. But the one I want isn’t available over here and I don’t have the necessary lottery win to just get it shipped across from the US
