Just picked up the cab and the mats aren't Porsche mats, any reccomendations for the best place to buy at the best price :) Also have a few small issues with worn buttons and a missing cigarette lighter, any recommendations for suppliers or is it straight to Porsche?

Hi

the Ciggy Lighter 944 652 307 00 NLA since 20/12/2014

the cracked plastic on the heater controls 944 653 203 00 1DB £27.18

The worn Switches on the heater controls, sit down now

the left hand one
944 653 923 00 £136.00
right one
944 653 924 00 £136.15

the little sliders with the triangle on them 944 653 205 00 01C £27.62 each

the fan control knob 944 653 207 00 01C £21.68

the whole unit for the heater including the knobs sliders switches and face plate £617.00

the thing i would say is buying these bits of plastic second hand is almost pointless as they are 30 years old already and will quite possilby just break or be worn out anyway

Thanks, the cracked plastic bit isn't too bad as is the knobs. Although the switches are a bit steep. I was thinking of removing them and wrapping them in matt black vinyl. We'll see, may take the plunge.

If you are one of these clever types then you can repair some of this plastic stuff like that facia

if it's made of ABS you can steal some of your kids black lego bricks, then go to the local beauty parlour and buy some PURE acetone (not nail varnish remover), the next item on the list is a small glass jar with a sealing lid (baby food jar).

place afore mentioned lego bricks in the jar then add some acetone then bung the lid on, the lego bricks will melt and create depending on the amount of acetone a sort of putty.

lego bricks are also ABS, the good thing about ABS is if you melt it with acetone its molecular structure stays intact so as the acetone dries out the plastic joins as if it was never broken,

with that little science lesson done have fun,

Very good :) I could also 3D print it with black ABS I guess?

Have ordered one now from Justin Webb at 944 spares along with a few other bits and pieces.

should have just gone direct to Porsche and got your 10% tipec discount.

I buy all these sort of bits direct from Porsche 9.9 times out of 10 they are always cheaper,

old bits on ebay can be 5-10x the price of new from OPC,

last week I bought a new plastic cover for the fuel gauge sender in the boot, there was a new one in the bag on eBay for 26.50 plus post,

a brand new one in the bag from OPC £7.13

They were good prices, the centre console was £25, heater knobs £25 and the dimer switch was £10 pls a few other bits and pieces, happy with that.

I'll get my OEM mats from Porsche, didn't know about the discount.
