Hi.

Was planning on using my car this weekend for a show but have a serious brake wobble.

944 s2 cab

Basically hadn’t moved the car from r a month, when I tried the move I t off the drive the pads had stuck there the disks so there was quite a clunk when mine going off.

I haven drop Ben it for about it 30 miles breakIng genrtly the see if I can sort them out t but it’s really bad - can they warp this way? Am I looking at new pads and disk?

If I do need disks, which ones as I don’t know if it’s the mo30 option or not?

I had this after i stupidly put the car away wet and did not use it for a long time. The pads had stuck and I got a big clunk when I set off.

Terrible steering shakes under braking. A lot of hard braking around some twisty roads cleaned up the disks and got rid of the problem.

I removed the pads cut a piece of wood to fit it which allowed me to pump the piston out without it popping out. Pushed the piston back in and repeated a few times.
As its not in daily use I pump the brakes every few days and no problem since.

As the guys say. Before I had my front calipers refurbed I found a good Italian tune up would keep them moving!

Thanks guys for the advice.

I am looking at getting the car in locally somewhwhere that does pro-cut skimmer of the discs, that be said, I have enough left of the disc to do this.

If not, think I will need to get new discs, but what thickness disc was put on the s2 - 28mm or 32mm - some of the cars has the mo30 upgrade - how can one tell?

Thanks

Steve

A standard S2 front disk has a diameter of 298mm and thickness of 28mm

M030 disks have a diameter of 304mm and thickness of 32mm

The minimum thickness before they need changing is 26 and 30mm respectively. I don't know how much brake skimming costs, but I've just replaced my disks at £50 each from Eurocarparts (Sebro brand). Paying to make your brakes thinner is just accelerating wear and never seems to make sense to me (unless your disks cost £100's to replace)
