Afternoon all

I've finally bought a new crank pulley (alternator drive) and shall be fitting this over the weekend. Can anybody tell me if the bolt that holds on the water pump pulley in front of the alternator belt pulley is the one at a million torques that drives the oil pump or not?

Cheers

Stuart

I assume you're talking crankshaft pulley. If so then yes it is set to FT on the torque wrench.
I never bother with a torque wrench I just use a 36" knuckle bar with scaffolding pole & lean until I can lean no more.

Yes Jim crankshaft pulley for the alternator drive belt I need to replace. I need to remove the power steering pulley first, also on the crankshaft, and that is secured with a bolt and it is this bolt I refer too!

Cheers

Stuart

From memory it's 210Nm (at least on an NA), but probably with checking. Luckily I had a mate with a high enough torque wrench, and it might sound obvious, but it is really very tight indeed.

Just looked it up it is 210NM. I always clean it with carb cleaner & put loctite on it. IF it comes loose then the oil pump doesn't drive which is BANG!

Or for the English 150lb/ft

I would get a new o ring for the joint between the pulley and the oil pump drive
