Good evening,
I took the car out for a drive today and noticed the speedometer wasn't working.
It recently had its MOT and was working then, all the other guages and the odometer are working fine.
Any ideas as what is the cause? Speed sensor,at the transaxle?

Thanks,
Al.

more than likely a broken cog in the head unit

If the odometer is still working, it's gonna be the speedo head itself.

As above, if the odometer is still working it's likely to be the speedo head itself or the speed sensor on the axle.

I have a spare speedometer (180mph) if you find you need one, I purchased a full clock set when chasing a faulty voltmeter & have the rest as spares.

Thanks for the offer of the speedometer, I'll give you shout if I need it.

Not sure if the S2 is the same as the 968 in that the odometer can still turn but the speedo not register. My 968 had a fuse that had failed causing exactly that problem... May not be that but it's a cheap and easy check/ fix before shelling out on new clocks....

Thanks, can you tell me the fuse that has maybe failed, does it operate anything else other than the speedo?
