Post subject:  Knocking noise from transmission

Hi all

I have had my clutch pedal sticking down occasionally on my s2 and the clutch master cyclinder is leaking slightly.

I have all the parts necessary to sort this ready for the better weather.

This morning I noticed a knocking noise from the transmission whilst motoring along in gear.

The noise stops if you take it out of gear and cost.

The frequency of the noise increases with speed!

Any ideas where to look on this one? Drive shafts.

Any help would be great

Regards

Mark

I would start with the drive shafts, if they are all ok have a look at the gearbox top mount.

CV joints are where I'd start. Worth stripping & regreasing anyway. The one above the silencer box is favourite for dying.
