Anyone know if there is a little industrial unit anywhere that can reproduce a door card for a 1986 944? Drivers side one on my car is struggling around the electric window switch. It lets the car down to see the switch dropping down because the card around the switch is shot.

you won't find anyone who can make a new one,how about reinforcing behind your original with some fibreglass ?
the fibreglass will stiffen the old card stuff and take a self tapper to hold the switch panel in
alternatively have a look on ebay for a 2nd hand pair

Thanks for the reply. I've used fiberglass previously with both the door cards - it has worked really well. However where the window switch goes, the door card has ballooned (for the want of a better description). I would need to flatten it before fibreglass and not really how to do that?

Cheers though
Ian

The bottom of my door card was swollen with water damage on the 993. I used her iron (shh) and then soaked some resin in the bone dry card, put a layer of vinyl sheet over the resin and clamped 2 pieces of wood to set it flat.

Mine had got wet previously and when dried out got brittle. I soaked this section in superglue which wicked right into the board and made it solid again.
