Post subject:  Glove box light

I may have b**g***d my glove box light (and fuse) when sticking the glove box back together last night on my 1989 S2.

Glove box light no longer working and clock no longer working, etc.

I can't find a part number for the glove box light or bulb that I can see on the PET parts list and wondered if anybody knows the relevant part numbers and/or bulb type I need?

Is it ebay for a second hand glove box light ? or are they still available new from OPC ?

thanks

Available from OPC for a couple of quid. I got one last year. You've obviously popped the fuse, replace that first and see what's what. Sorry don't have part number to hand for bulb.

Mark - I did exactly the same putting my glove box back together doing the same (interior temp sensor) job you are doing. Metal on metal contact causing the fuse to pop.
New fuse = all back to normal so I suspect your bulb should be OK.

The handbook should also tell you the bulb you need.
It's page 390 (of 423) on PET for the diagram listing the relevant parts you need - if the bulb isn't working after inserting a new fuse.

Stuart /Mark, many thanks for your help.

Fuse definately fried and the bulb as well I think, I'll get a new fuse /bulb and take it from there.

Serves me right for "encouraging" the glove box back together, clearly I need to be a bit more careful when minor surgery on the electrics, but I'm no longer as flexible as I once was and it was somewhat uncomfortable to get to and see what I was doing.

Must take up Yoga :D
