Hi all,

I've got a Porsche 924s with a no start, no spark, no tach bounce condition.

I think I've nailed the reasoning - it looks like when the previous sensors were installed they were gapped wrong, and the sensor has collided with the grub screw in the flywheel, damaging both. There is resistance through the sensors, but no impulse when the engine is cranked.
Now, I can replace the sensor easily enough...but to do the grub screw, does the entire flywheel need to be removed? Or can it be attempted through the sensor bracket opening?

it might be easier to do it from underneath the car. If you get it all jacked up as high as you can on stands first
then remove the thin metal cover that covers the bottom of the flywheel you will be able to see more easily how damaged the grub screws are. I think there is a cut-out right at the base of the flywheel housing casting where you could get an allen key in. The grub screws are held in with thread lock so if they are basically sound I would leave them alone as they might be a pig to get out. They should be @ 5mm proud of the surface so check they are all the same (I think there are three).
