Hi everyone, I still have a cold start problem after taking my car to a couple of porsche specialist and they have changed over my Aux Air Valve but it still doesn't kick in when it's cold. I have checked my spark plugs which are okay accept for the last one at the bulk head which has a tiny bit of oil on around the thread. I have changed the throttle switch valve myself and the first day it seems to work but only for a couple of seconds then I revved it and it didn't remain on even though the car was still cold.

I think it is electrical or an injector? I'm no mechanic so I'm only guessing or is there a relay theat controls it?

My biggest problem here on Wirral is I cannot find anyone to work on my car that doesn't either try to rip me off or tell me some story as to why something doesn't work or that it should be like that. I really need to find a good honest garage.

Now then, my headlamps have worked great since I have had the car without any problems, I have a couple of weeks ago fixed my headlamp washers myself after being told it was the pump which I changed myself to find it wasn't so I set about getting a new wiper relay which I took out the old one well though I did to find the wipers still worked so put the new one in the place of the old one whoich says wiper etc on it but still they didn't work, I had the headlights on and they popped up fine as normal.

I eventually fixed the headlamp washer yets by changing a relay but I don't know which one I changed to make them work but they worked and my headlights worked just as they did, so I then thought maybe my cold start problem is a relay and changed some more but didn't know which was which but nothing seemed any different. The next day all appeared the same until I went to go out in the dark and my headlights didn't pop up grrrrr....... so I looked into it and wiggled the wires at the plug to the motor but nothing then so I got a new relay and changed that at the motor but nothing, so I got another motor and changed that but still nothing so I am now certain it must be electrical but when I put the plug back on the motor you here a click of connection and the headlights are coming on still but just not popping up. So what elese could it be?

Can anyone please help me with these problems as I'm cash strapped now thanks to the garages that coast me more money that was needed if they hadn't of ripped me off. Any advice on what i can checked for or the details of a honest garage that won't cost me the earth to fix it would be great please.

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the fuses - in addition to the relay, there are separate fuses for lamps up and down (on the S2 anyway)?

Have you checked obvious stuff, like battery voltage etc...? Might help to describe your cold start issue in more detail - does it start eventually it not at all?
