Hey everyone,

I have a beloved 1983 Porsche 944. I've just fitted a new stereo and now she won't start. I desperately need her running for a wedding on the 9th and I'm close to running out of time. I've ordered some new Safety Ceramic Fuses so I can test. But looks like they won't turn up in time. Anyone know if I can use a different type of fuse that I'll be able to pick up locally? Or if there's somewhere I can source this type from, again, as local as possible. I've been pulling my hair out today.

If anyone is local to me and knows the electrical systems on the 83' 944 well, I'll make you lots of tea. If you can help me get her running, I'll drop you £100 cash on the spot. I'm desperate here.

Thanks in advance.
Dan.

This is how she sounds when I try to start her.

I'm going to take a look at the fuses over the next couple of days. As people are saying I could have killed a fuse when installing the new stereo. I'm a bit confused though, all the fuses are for lighting and other electrical parts, the list doesn't show anything that would stop the engine firing from what I can see in the owners manual.

OK so I'm gonna nip out and try a new battery.
Thanks, I'll let you know if it starts.

Thanks!

So first thing I tried was a new battery, and it fired up first time. I was concerned that I'd messed up a fuse or two when installing the new stereo. Turns out that the previous owner stuck the wrong battery in there and it was on its last legs when I bought it.

All good now. A big thanks to everyone that took the time to drop a comment. I'm gonna stick around and you'll probably hear from me soon.
