Hi everybody, thinking about selling my 968 sport, just wondering if you could give me a rough valuation, it's a cat c, black with black interior, 130000 miles, runs and drivers perfectly, got a few issues, but nothing major. Thanks, Brad.

Always difficult to value a Cat C, I would say you will do very well to get double figures for it.

There's a low mileage Cat D cab thats been for sale for ages at £11k.

Cat C will be like the kiss of death to most speculators, which is where the money is. Otherwise it depends when it was and what it was for. Photographic records before and after and a good repairer may save it. Otherwise it's a £5-6k snotter.

Bit harsh to call it a snotter, but the value is about right I would have said 8-10k as good sports are selling for 15-18

If it needed cams, a gearbox rebuild and or the cat C was a big one repaired by a bodger I don't think my valuation was too unfair. Could make a good track day slag, with a turbo conversion :) .

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies, it was a good repair, you wouldn't notice unless you were told, it drove into the back of a flat bed and had the fromt wings and bonnet replaced, values look good, was hoping to get around 10k for it, if anyone knows anyone that would be interested then get them to get in touch, it would be much appreciated, thanks, brad.

How long ago was it a Cat C ? If it was when you could buy a straight one for £6-7k I could understand £3-4k of repairs writing it off.

The accident was approximately 6-7 years ago from what the previous owner had told me, I guess this was when they were a bit cheaper

Won't take a lot to make it a Cat C. Especially on a Coupe. A dinged rear wing would be enough, very difficult to repair without a lot of work & possibly a new rear quarter & possibly roof which will be big money. By the time it's painted & a hire car it will add up to a tidy sum. Black is also the worst colour for repair.
I know of a 944 that had a damaged front PU & radiator that was a Cat C. Old rule of thumb was 30% off for a D, 50% off for a C but a lot depends on condition. My old 944 was a Cat C from offside wing & suspension damage.
Porsche OPC panel prices make a Cat C or D from panel damage much more likely.

Looks like it's on ebay now for £15k  . Thought about a cheeky £5k offer, but Brad might be big and punchy  .
