After a winter of discontent trying to sort out a no start problem, she now starts has a nice new MOT pass but has taken to smoking, lots of blue smoke when she comes on boost, I am presuming oil from the turbo is being blown into the engine. So any advise on removing, servicing or replacing the turbo would be very welcome. It looks like its been there for 30years.

Seems that the seels in the turbo have failed. Will need to be rebuilt. Plenty of turbo specialist around that can do that.

Well its taken 12 months just to get back where I started :( I had the turbo rebuilt by Turbo Technics and a great job they did :) have refitted with new seals on turbo, exhaust connections, and AOS, also did a few none related jobs as you do, anyhow took her for a shakedown run and b..... she still blows blue smoke an full bust (she goes like sh.. off a stick) and she's now leaking oil from somewhere around the AOS, further investigation needed on that one. So my question is where do I start looking for the problem? am I getting back pressure in the sump? or something along that line of thought. Suggestions please :)

Update:- The oil leak looked like it was coming from the lower AOS seal, which is strange as I replaced both "O" rings when doing the turbo, so after a good swear :x and a strong cup of tea set about removing bits, and as anyone who has had to remove the AOS, LOTS of bits. My other problem is the smoking on boost, clue at the moment is an unhealthy amount of oil in the J boot, I plan to remove the IC for inpection as I have read that oil can collect there. Can this be the cause of the smoke and if so how does it get there and how do I correct it, suggestions please.
