1. hiding under the intake manifold at the firewall end is this white(ish) plastic cyclinder with double wire plug - anybody know what it is and what it's function is? The blue wire had snapped off so I have reconnected it - just wondering what it was for.

2. This random box of tricks / wires, is spliced into the wiring for the sunroof and also has a direct connection to the battery (the yellow wires with a blade fuse 25amp inline). Anybody recognise it / what it might be? I suspect it is the cause of my completely dead sunroof.

Last picture is a window lift module, its probably also why you have that 25A fuse.

First picture is the IIRC 'cycling valve', this controls boost via the wastgate, it's one of the things that you get rid of when fitting a Dual port wastegate (DPW)....like everything under the inlet manifold it get's brittle due to heat...anything under there that's original is now toast, this goes for hoses, wiring loom and sensors as well as said cycling valve.

Would this be from an aftermarket alarm system? If so I can remove it as the two old alarms on the car have been disabled.

It would have been part of or an add on to alarm system, if you no longer have a security system then it should be fine to remove.

Managed to drive the car today after reconnecting that wire, cycling valve is still working as I now have full boost again and no stuttering at higher rpm :bounce:
