Had to have a new battery last week, the battery guy checked the alternator and the read out said 13.5 volts LOW. With only one day before Simply Porsche I decided to leave it and hope for the best, 480 miles later and back home with no problems. Before I left I ordered a new regulator/ brush assembly to fit on my return.
According to Haynes, it is possible to fit a new regulator without removing the alternator. Has anyone done this?
BTW thought Simply Porsche was great and excellent value for money. Shame there were no auto jumble stalls.

Its a tight squeeze but is easy enough once you have the cowl off the back of the alternator (4 very small nuts) and yes it can be done without removing the alternator its just two Philips screws. I've recently done mine on the S2 Cab but it was made easier as my ARB was coming off for new bushes so did it from under the car....

Methodical is the way forward :) Good luck :)

Thanks for the info, got to get the daily driver through its MOT first, then I'll tackle the alternator.
