Looking for some help with radiator size / efficiency, I'm in the process of fitting a V8 in my Lux.

If the existing rad proves unsuitable, I was wonderingbwhat alternatives Incould use, is the 944 S2 Turbo radiator bigger / thicker than the 2.5 Lux?

My V8 produces 200bhp, so any suggestions or advice welcome.

Cheers.

Pete.

The turbo one is definitely bigger than the standard lux one. I'm not sure on thickness but definitely in height.

The tanks on a 944 Turbo radiator are also larger. I fitted a Turbo rad into my S2.

The Turbo / S2 radiators are slightly bigger physically and in capacity so you might need to do some 'tweeking' to get one into a standard Lux. Another option is one of the aftermarket welded Aluminium rads from ebay. Height and width wise they are a good fit for the Lux but they are slightly thicker with an extra core so flow 30% more. I fitted one at the end of last year and paired it with a Spal 10 blade fan. The combination works very well and there is the added bonus of an extra couple inches work room at the front of the engine that the stock fan cowl used to take up.

As you can see in the pictures the one I was sent had a slight manufacturing mistake, they had welded the end tabs upside down. I agreed with the supplier to take a discount and fix it myself so I only paid £140 for the rad. I was sceptical about it at first but its been in 6 months and 2000 miles some of which have been driven hard and the set-up has been faultless.

Thanks all, it looks like the custom alloy rad will be the 'simplest' alternative.
