I had one of those the 4.7 S2, great torque and cruisy Autobox / motor and another nicely balanced transaxle, but
it's too big and heavy to handle as well as a more nimble 944 an especially a lighter 924.

Straight line stuff the 5.0 S4 / GTS's are very strong, also off the traffic lights, the 2 pedal auto's a doddle to beat the laggy turbo car's to 40mph

If we are talking ' standing starts off the light's'.... there isn't any lag.......drive a turbo properly and you won't worry about lag period, just remember to wave at any N/A's as you pass....:)

Yes that's the one, a 2 pedal 928 V8 automatic off the lights launches and accelerates very well..
