I am still trying to resolve my seat problem. Even though the OPC told me that the replacement squab and back foam insides were available, and gave me a price of £91 and £118 respectively - there are no parts available. have tried lots of trimmers, who all send me to David at Southbound Trimmers, including Douglas Valley. David says he needs to go into his loft to check if there's any lying around, so I'm waiting for a reply there too. I have found a man in Leigh who says he can build the insides for me, like they do on Pimp My Ride, but he can't even see the car until next week. Finally, as a last resort I have e-mailed an ex-girlfriend from thirty years ago who lives in Munich (she is German) and asked her if she will try from the German end for me. I'm still waiting a reply, but it was only today I sent it.

Since starting this process I have now got slipped disc / sciatica, caused by the car seat, which is very painful and very inconvenient to me. The car is on my drive now and the intention is to use it as little as possible until either the parts or new seats are available.

So to the question - can I fit Boxster seats in the S2? If not, what is the latest year Porsche that I can take a seat out of that will fit?

Thank you.

I think that most early seats are interchangeable. But if your thinking of Boxster seats, how much are they?

Would it be worth taking a drive to Demon Tweeks, Wrexhams not too far from you and see what they have for sale

My 928 seats gave me hamstring problems and i ended up selling the car

my 993 seats were great

the same seat would probably not give the same problems to anyone else
It's just your shape and the seat are not compatible

If you like the car why not fit boxster, 996, 993 seats
Just need to find some to match your interior colour

Or you could take it to a trimmer and get them to make some new foam, get them to use a firmer foam, it'll probably solve the problem

Good luck

Water cooled seats wont simply bolt in, as the earlier air cooled parts did.

I think that 993 are probably the latest ones that will fit easily. They are the same as the ones fitted to the later 968s.

Thanks for the responses. Some helpful suggestions that I have overlooked in my frustration at the situation. I've just realised that I haven't even had the idea of checking my next-but-two neighbour's Boxster to see for myself. In fact I should use it as he's in hospital for three weeks.

I have been on an American restorers website and they indicated none are available. What I need is an upholsterers forum where I will probably find that somebody has one hidden away.
I have been told by Southbound that any seat up to 1998 will fit, so the suggestion of air-cooled and 993 seems to be correct.
I will e-mail Porsche USA and see if anything is stashed away anywhere.
My shape? 6' tall and 73kg, I did not have any problems with my 2.7 Lux seats. And I didn't have any problems with these S2 seats for the first couple of years, so I will probably get away with the same seats 'refilled'.
I will see the man in Leigh and ask about firmer foam - which sounds like it may be the most suitable and reasonable option at this time.

By the way, if you wanted to know how to change the insides look at this http://www.orlando-car-fashion.de/index ... ge0009.htm

There are quite a few seats on eBay at present depending on what colour you want or how far you want to change your interior if at all.

Porsche Recaro 911 964 993 complete interior Sport seat 330285855078 at £155 at present plus he has carpets etc.
PORSCHE 964 944 TURBO LEATHER SEATS / INTERIOR 280287188197 at £200.
