Might be worth doing something simple like cleaning the connections to the ECU.

SYNN group had a trip out to Porsche & Euro Car Specialists last Sunday who can repair ECU s if neccessary but I think its just poor connections. Havent checked the flywheel sensors yet, where exactly are they? :?

What we have seen more commonly as of late is the soilder joints inside the ECU will crack. As the box heats up it causes the joints to expand and lose contact. You can get a rebuilt unit or have someone re-soilder the joints.

Thanks Jamie. The problem originally happened half a mile from home(engine cold). Then I put in a new DME relay and got 10 miles from home before it cut out,but I tapped the ECU and it started straight away. Ive fiddled with the ECU connection and Ive done about 70 miles with no problem since,so now Im thinking either it was the relay or it could have been poor connections to the ECU.Ive recently found a new Porsche independent locally who can repair ECUs so if it happens again I ll take it in there and get it re-soldered. PS can you send us some of your Florida sunshine quickly as we re all freezing our nuts off over here in the north of England at the moment! :) :)

Can you mark the customs slip as a 'gift'. I'd hate to pay VAT and import duty on the Sun. 8)
