I am considering refurbishing the dash on the 944 - but I have noticed that the slots on the top (which direct the heater air upwards to the windscreen) do not have a finish to their edges. Should there be any sort of plastic edging to the holes/slots or is the leather (?) simply glued down around the slots? |

Garage9.com They do a stick on one or a bolt fix - ie dash removed. A local one may be more appropriate however in your case...There is a YouTube of a fellow replacing his dash in situ and worth a look if you going that route - Dave CT |

When I recovered my dash last year I came across the same problem. So, as I have some skills in 3d modelling and access to a 3d printer I made some inserts from ABS plastic. They work very well indeed, and I quite like the finish on them. All the details are on my facebook page for the project, and I'd be more than happy to send over the files to anyone who wants to print there own versions. Just let me know. Go to March the 22nd to see pics and a video. https://www.facebook.com/Porsche-944-867456730003489/ Mind you, I really like that stainless version. I'm tempted. |
