P6000's commonly known as ditch finders.....
I run Goodyear GSD3 F1 & think they're great, others run Khomos & Falkens with good results, it will help to have the same make of tyres front & back to assist the balance. A lot recommend Continentals but they're an old style tyre & feel it. Bridgestones are another choice but I found the rock hard sidewalls give an uncomfortable ride, although the turn in is good.

Virtually anything will be better than P6000s which are the spawn of Satan. Top work someone wearing them out in less than 20 years; they seem to be made of Bacolite.

Jim's got the list except for Toyo Proxes which also have some fans.

That sounds more like P6000s

You don't have them on the back as well do you?

I have P6000's on the front of my S2 and as you say they never wear out only end up cracking with age, I have had no problems with them to date but will be changing them for a set of Toyo Proxes T1R.

Not had to change tyres on my 944 yet but I have had good experience with both Falken 452 and Toyo T1R's on my Octy vRS, Goodyear's new F1 asymetric is getting good reviews as well but a bit pricier (I believe it is slowly replacing the GSD-3's). Cheaper options may be Falkens 912 ( much better than the 512, which it replaces,by all accounts) and Goodyears Excellence.

this topic turns up quite regularily and i think tyre choice is personal, different drivers have different driving styles and expect different things from their cars, just look a F1 set-ups, so altho' the P6000s don't have the best grip they will last for ever which would be fine for constant motorway driving but not so good on twisty B or country roads where a stickier tyre wins hands down, the advice given here is great but based on individual driving styles
