Post subject:  new member tired of tyres....

really struggling with this one..... I have already searched through the forums but cannot really find any reviews of any decent tyres for 205 / 60 /r15 - the only thing I have found that look reasonable are toyo proxes CF2's

I have just bought an 83' 2.5 8v - can anyone make any decent recommendations for tyres??

I want to do some track driving but use on the roads too, so something that wont wrap me around the nearest tree at the hint of rain...

Please help!!

I'm running falken ze914 on my 924 in 205 60 15 they have been good in all weather my 924 is used as my daily and I live 2 miles down a farm track and through a cattle farm and the falkens have never steered me wrong. And with living in Cumbria we have rain pretty much all year round.

I went for kumo solus, it's a limited selection in this size.

There's also Toyo Proxes CF1 or CF2 both decent tyres

Not too much in any that have been mentioned all decent mid range tyres

Hi Jenko try Vredestien Sportrack 5. I run these in 195 / 65 / 15 on my 1984 944.They also do 205/60/15. The grip level is superb in both wet and dry conditions. I took it round the Nerbergring last year with no problems. And drove back through France at 90mph in torrential rain as we were running late for the ferry, felt 100% stuck to the road. Try Camskill on line about £50 a corner, you wont be disappointed. Read the reviews for them on line they get fantastic write ups. Try my youtube video over North Yorkshire moors on these tyres last year.

If the CF2s are like the CF1s I'd be happy with them :).

Impressive.... I think it is between these and the toyo cf2's.....

Thanks for the input all - really useful ...could do with a separate tyre review section on the board as there is not much info out there on r15 tyres...

Like the video, just to make sure any enforcement officers out there know it was all at the speed limits :D

Bet the cyclist at 1.30 wasn't too pleased seeing you coming head on at speed

It looks much closer on the video than it was, and we were on our side of the road 50 meters before we passed him and he didn't even blink. He barely looked up! As for speed I can only say national speed limits apply!!!
