I replaced the roof trim seals this weekend. Part numbers:

944 559 707 00 sealing rubber
999 591 732 02 clamp

Manky old seal with the end missing - you have to pull out the seal to reveal the clip and whilst gently prising the trim away from the roof, use a small flat bladed screw driver to press down in turn on the clip's two arms:

New seals:

Clip locations - I moved the rearmost one to the back peg as that was how it was on the other side:

Lots of the clips had snapped legs, so I bought some new ones:

Getting the new seal in is easy once you get the knack, sort of roll and press:

Thanks for posting this, somewhere in the deep, distant past someone has resprayed my car and painted over these seals  . I'm going to get this re-done when funds allow and getting those trims off was worrying me.

Thanks from me too...this is a job I know I will be looking at doing early in the new year, so always nice to see photos of the bits in question! I feel an order to the OPC coming on  .

I did mine over summer as the originals had gone hard and were starting to crack.

So....

I've just ordered 2 of these gutter sealing strips part No 944 559 707 00 from Porsche Swindon and have been told the price is £62 !!! Am i being ripped off or is this the average price? Seems a lot for two thin bits of rubber.

Anyone know of anywhere else that may be cheaper?

Thanks

I picked up one from Porsche Edinburgh yesterday. I think it was £27 plus vat - TIPEC discount for just one (clips for the trim were an additional £1.20 each * 12).

I bought one thinking that I could find matching trim for the other side elsewhere once I knew what the profile looked like. I cant help but think the same profile must be used somewhere else in the world. None of the likely VW or Audi's match. It's annoying.

Having checked through a few specialist rubber trim firms I think it is going to be either a nightmare or impossible.
