Do all 944s have a boot release button or did the early ones not have these?
I can't find one anywhere so I'm assuming that my 83 missed out on that feature.

Your probably have to use the key as well.

Ive had an early car that had the boot release but this could have been an option or maybe beacuse it was a spanish import ??. Im taking mine off the turbo and fitting a manual pull cable instead mainly for weight saving but also should be more reliable !!

Off the top of my head it was an option on early cars. Only the 1985 cars had everything , apart from the electric roof, which was still an option.

If it is a UK car then most were imported as "Lux" spec with the options. However some cars came in from Europe which was in a basic form without some of the "standard" UK bits.

It's in the drivers footwell on the right. Mine has the button but no motor! Got a moter off ebay but not got around to it yet. Steering wrack now peeing oil out after fitting a new pump. (Should have known that would happen.) Could keep topping up the oil but I hate that..........

1982 & 1983 did not have the electric boot release. It was not added until the 1984 models. The 82 & 83 also have a different front hood latch than the later years.
