Thanks all.

Mine's not been delivered yet so not sure what size centre aperture it'll be.

Love the pic above, glad I went for the Corse.

Probably the later 55mm. I have a 1986 Prototipo which has a 51mm centre bore and a 1989 Monte Carlo which has a 55mm bore. Ive noticed that Momo horn pushes are all 51mm though, meaning that you will need an inner mounting ring for newer wheels.

Ive spent the evening going through my Momo bosses, wheels, horn pushes and fixings and both Porsche logo Momo horn pushes have a broad shoulder meaning that they dont fit later style wheels which use an alloy trim ring on the outside of the wheel. You can leave the ring off though and use shorter screws to fix the wheel to the boss.

It arrived today and, as you thought, is the c.55mm bore size.

As you seem to be inundated with Momo paraphanalia would you be interested in selling me the appropriate boss, Porsche horn button and bolts!? If so drop me a PM with how much you'd want for them.

Ta!

Sorry Ben, I have a car for every bit. Also, the bosses suit series two cars only as they have a fixed horn ring.

I will try to help if you get stuck though, but its hard to know what youll need until you have all of the major parts. You might get the mounting ring that youll need with the hornpush yet.

Thats reminded me - I have advertised the only spare boss that I have on PCGB, but it wont suit your wheel. Its an oldschool 4" / 101.6mm PCD type to suit Moto-lita and Astrali and classic Mountney.

New and boxed and straight out of the early eighties! :D

You can use a momo boss from a mk2/3 golf for a late dash, but you need to get the little spline adaptor thing, its standard on the golfs and converts them from small (like 944) to large spline.

Golf bosses are about £15 and the adaptor is about £2. Yes my horn works and indicators cancel.

As for steering wheels, Momo monte carlo is the best period wheel to suit, common in 964's -
(i have a couple, one is 350mm & 330mm without thumb ribs)
they look factory imo.

Bit of a thread resurrection but anyhow . The original four spoke wheel on my 944 has seen better days so i am looking to replace it with a momo prototipo so just need to know where to procure the correct boss with horn ring etc? Any ideas?

I'm tempted for the same route you are planning. rosepassion.com seem to have good pricing & the correct boss. I can't see the Porsche Horn button though which is what I would want to make it complete.

I am planning to fit a period Momo Cavallino to my 944. It comes with a detachable padded centre boss but I prefer it without. It was previously fitted to my VW Golf MK2 so I had to source the correct boss via eBay. I also sourced a new Porsche crested horn push from eBay (233052053151). It’s not a genuine Momo item but it appears to be good quality and fits perfectly. Design911 sell a similar horn push for around £45 + VAT. I do like the Momo Prototipo and the Corse wheels but this wheel should look OK and will feel better with its thicker rim.

I may have a Porsche MOMO horn button if you’re interested?
