Its always annoyed my that the lower section of the doors are a slightly different shade if white (nobody else ever noticed but it annoyed me) - Its now a very different shade as I decided to vinyl wrap it in high gloss red. Bit of trial and error when wrapping as I've never done it before but with a bit of patience I'm happy with the result plus its totally reversible. I have a new Porsche decal to go on the back as a finishing touch.

Note: I've re-done the rear bumper since I took the photo as some white was showing through near the bump strip and need to tidy some edges so not the finished product quite yet but you get the idea

Trusty old girl has been out all the time in this crap weather. Thank God the heater now works and the Sottozeros have been amazing.

The 924s had a day off today. I was all set to go for a snowy run up in Wharfedale, the car spluttered into life after a lot of cranking then wouldn't drive very well at all. Spluttering and missing at low revs on throttle changes and stalling, backfiring and generally lacking in power. It turned out to be a loose induction hose post AFM. It must have been loose for ages, the clips don't suddenly unscrew, white plugs etc symptomatic of unmetred air entering the engine. I don't know why it picked today to tell me about its woes, it was fine yesterday! The weather was cold, same as yesterday, but crucially very very damp. Damp weather it seems will make a lean running engine run very badly indeed. Got my AFM tested using the Clarks method, seems ok, nice to get it done.

Well done, I'm a fan of vinyl wrapping because as you say it's fully reversible & allows you to enjoy your car as you'd like it to look. Here's a picture of my "black" 968 wrapped Mint Green.....

Clutch master cylinder leaking badly and stripped sunroof gears again:( Glad it's rhd, chageing the master cylinder is a lot easier, bleeding it is another matter so I've fitted a remote bleed valve and a chance to clean up the starter terminals, changed the slave as well while I was down there.

Pulled the internals out of the replacement struts and marked them out for cutting ready to have the adaptor sleeves welded in. Removed the broken brake line clip mounts from both struts and the broken ABS connector from one strut and managed to get the one from the other strut off without breaking it

I went round to Johns house for a bit of courage on this Lifted the fuse box and as Martin said, there’s plenty of meat in there and you can be firm with it... I’ve uncovered some more dodgy connections from an alleged “professional” alarm fitter... As it’s all multi plugs on the back, I’m tempted to undo them all, get the actual box out if the way and check all the crap that’s been played with... I’m thinking my immobiliser connections are a likely culprit in mine... see what you think in the pics below Managed to snap a pic with her cabrio sister as well

Cam cover refurb. Attachment: Cam_cover.jpg [ 232.61 KiB \| Viewed 5937 times ] Im not normally one for doing this type of thing but a previous owner had removed all the paint so a white powdety oxiodation would appear regularly. As an aside, anyone know what the point of the 2 circular plastic plugs is on the cover - I assumed they were for inspection but as they are held on with circlips inside the cover it cant be that?

Hi Ian, I believe they are a hang over from the 928 32V engine that the cover was originally designed for. Have a look at some 928 engine photos and you will see some pipes connecting to them, perhaps part of the vac or emissions systems? Looking good...! You might want to replace the two O rings around the plastic plugs as they go hard/brittle with age and can start to leak a bit...you don't want oil on your new paint job O rings are available at Porsche for pence..

Good idea - I'll get a couple of o rings as I've already got new seals for the cover bolts, spark plugs etc. Not sure whether to bother to pick out the lettering in a colour now!

Did you manage to find the part number for the seal for the cylinder head plug at all please? Also, don’t suppose anyone knows what the part No. is for the actual plug, I can’t find it on the diagram and mine is cracked and I’m hoping is he source of my oil leek?
