The 11 hrs included freeing some seized gbox mounting bolts, and the gbox filler plug, retapping the O2 sensor fitting plus a few other small jobs so more than reasonable I think.

Pressure tested the cooling sytem with my new toy. Worked a treat and no leaks detected following a good flush, refill and some new hoses and clips.

Clutch fork shaft can be had for less than £30 from ecp. What was the condition of the clutch fork? mine had a fair amount of wear and needed welding and re-profiling. |

I guess I could have saved a little on the bearings and gone for the generic 02, but I was up against it time wise as I need the car for a long trip and couldnt risk a part being incorrect and costing an extra day or two to replace so I played safe with OPC & D911. On the guide tube, again I couldnt wait to see it before ordering so I decided to just get a new one. Fork itself was OK. |

just to add re the clutch fork I'd recommend that the bearings at least be replaced when someone does the clutch, speaking from my own experience, my fork tips were worn down quite a bit, a little weld and grind brought these back to spec. The bearings were toast as was the pin which had deep roller marks in it, some try clocking the pin a little, as I have a fully equipped workshop I turned up my own pin using a stronger BMS as in EN8 which should out live me... Here's the link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272479237984 I wondered what could be available that would fir inside the headlight cowl in our cars... Solved the spluttering at low idle... That dodgy connector on the camshaft sensor.... but she has picked up a tinny rattle on the rear OS suspension that is only present when fully laden.... No discernible handling issues... Only noticed yesterday when I took the 968 out for a Chippy Tea Run last night with a few friends |

Made up a remote clutch bleed. The slaves are for my 993 but 944 is similar and the bleed nipple even more difficult to get at.
