Can't you get black silicone hoses Waylander?
Anyway, how are you getting on with it?

Paint work and wheels are peachy ^.

---------------------------------------------

W: If there's any consolation, the blue matches the paintwork (a little).

I like the wheels too Rob, the polished edge take the horror off the totally black,

the hoses were only 20% of the cost of genuine £42 plus post, genuine comes to over £300, I can put up with the blue in the hope of no failing pipe work.

I have a brand new hamilton palmer immobiliser in a porsche box but no USB keys, I gave £20 for it so I could have the steering column socket, as new sockets are £50 from HP, and new Keys are £40,

As its complete and mine makes no noise to let you know its armed or disarmed, maybe I should take it down there and get some keys made for it?

It's worth getting the Fobs sooner than later..

Also, installation ran into 6 hours work for the Thatcham Approved fitter [replacement not new install]] as, obviously, there are no instructions.. There are 6 points of immobilisation.. :drunken:

Waylander , sent you a pm .
I have two of those threaded plugs you are welcome to if you send me your address .

Only one of those is from a blown engine of my doing mind you . It did a bloody good job with a piece of piston actually bending one of the balance shafts and those are hardened steel .

Thanks Simon

Details supplied

And that is what I would describe as a catastrophic failure

Could do with a nice new coolant reservoir now to finish it off

Nice looking 968s guys - really liking the red car with the black / silver wheels - if it was me I would keep them the same and save the money for something else :bigsmurf:

I've been pretty busy over the last couple of weeks so not quite what I did today but...

1. Cleaned up and modded my gearbox mount using some 60A hardness polyurethane (gear change is very nice now)

Image Image

2. Refitted my powder coated rear cross member with new fittings and the modded gearbox mount (got the rubber bobbins from ebay for about £8 for 4 vs £15 each from Porsche)

Image

3. Temporarily fix the oil leak from the gearbox oil cooler (after replacing the seals didn't help), found that the plug appears to be pretty bad condition so I used some araldite to seal it and it has stopped the leak :D

Image Image

4. Fit the fuel pump and cover with a new hose I made up using AN fittings

Image

5. Bleed the brakes (fluid looked OK but couple of the nipples were siezed so ended up replaced all 8 x bleed nipples with replacements from Biggred for £7.50), the clutch fluid hasn't been changed for as long as I can remember and looked like coffee...

Image Image

6. Got the adjustable drop links fitted along with the freshly powder coated rear ARB and fittings.

Image

7. Got the wings, bumper and badge panel correctly installed finally with all new correct bolts and screws

Image Image

8. Cleaned up all of the underbody protection and started fitting it all

Started back in October

It has been a mission no doubt - and there are more jobs on the list for another time, need to get out and drive it a bit first!

seen the price of those £116, time to try some sterident on it

there is a company AV mounts, and AV industrial mounts, they do all the bobbins and mounts you will ever need, I bough a bag of them for the car,

fuel filter, Air box, variocam cover and some other places £1.25- £1.50 each
