Went to see a mate who's building a 944 S2 track car, looking good all interior stripped, roll cage fitted, Leda shocks to go on and a replacement head (previous one overheated and cracked head through an oil way)
Heard a crack when cornering spiritedly on the way back, could have been a stone hitting the undertray but no 'twas the corroded n/s drop-link on my rebushed front arb fracturing, good job I've ordered a new one.

Topped up the oil after the "engine oil" light came on after a quick stop start at the shops. Needed a whole 200ml of oil! Clearly the quick stop start helped activate an already over sensitive low level sensor. Still, I'd rather be warned too early than too late!

Incidentally, does anyone know what oil level the sensor should trigger at?

Cheers

Stuart

Mine triggers at around halfway between H & L on the dipstick. So around 1/2 L It does however trigger if it has been running & then switch off, then restarted. Obviously the oil is all in the head, hence a low sump level.

I feel your pain! It's a PITA to do in situ, particularly in a turbo!! :?

Bought 2.1/2L Fabsil; cleaned the soft top and gave it two coats.
When roof dry, filled up with petrol and took it for a spin.
Rained on the way back....
Roof beaded nicely.

Got home from work and....

fitted a boost gauge... just need to click the gauge into the pod and the two cables dangling will be hidden away and connected to the lights :)

I don't have a feed to the DME and KLR since I have neither of those. So it takes a feed from the inlet manifold which I hope is ok!

I took mine for a photo shoot with John Rampton.

I think he's still looking for some more cars to shoot if anyone is interested. If you find his
post you'll be able to PM him.

I was talking to John a couple of months ago about rig shots (I'm a keen amature photographer) and he seems to be a great guy with a good eye and photographic skills. Especially with cars. Need to hook up with him for a photo shoot at the workshop with some rare metal

Would recommend him to anyone. Search google for "vroom photo"

Today I made some progress with my fleet

One of my 968's had the steering wheel reconolalsed, it looks great,

And one of my 944 turbos, my precious white 86, got a new back box, remanufactured standard waste gate and all new exhaust seals. can't wait to get back in it once it's had it's detailing

One of my other 944 turbo's had some bts ordered ready for its modified engine build

All in all a productive day on a couple of my own cars for a change
