Forum has gone very quiet. I polished my bonnet with an orbital polisher great result and then a bird pooed on it. Met another S2 in Horwich how rare is that?

Well, I fitted a refurbed AFM from Frazer Parts and T cut the instrument cluster lens, swapped the BURNT OUT 3w capless equivalent Led's and replaced them with bog standard bulbs.
I wondered what the smell was.

They were not the super cheap version.
Anyway, I don't think the light is spread quite the same from an LED through that perspex. Great for side lights/repeaters but not through that perspex.

I also think I need to check the resistance through the rheostat.

I recently switched up the Bulbs in my SideLights to LEDs and the difference is quite spectacular..!

Got mine [for my 993] from autobulbsdirect.co.uk for ~£16

First pic for me Martin!

Went in to paint shop to see my car. I'm having my front wing bottoms tidied up, some fresh metal needed in the driver side wing bottom and on both sides having the brackets for the sill trims re-done after disintegration! Little bits and pieces along the sills being sorted, tidying and re-underseal of areas around the jacking points. tidy up and reseal inside of fixed wing bottoms. Little bubble on driver wing just above bumper being fixed and sealed inside. That wing being painted as well as new stone chip and paint along both sides. Pump full length of both sills with cavity wax. 3 day job, currently at the end of week 5! My friend is good but tends to get distracted. Anyway good chance be ready for tomorrow at close of play, fingers crossed and be worth it!

Stuart

My preference would be none but if you have to, the first set off the Audi 80.
Is that aluminium plate underneath that blue film?
Could you not stick some black vinyl to it?

the film is on matt black plastic 5mm thick, the bit to remember is in the 968 where the little box is, there is a clock so you can just get pair of sunglasses in, bit of a waste really

I am just doing this as a bit of fun really, I am also building some digital ones out of an Ardurino or Raspberry Pi 3 micro PC's and 2 or 3 1.5 inch OLED displays,
some of the bits should be here tomorrow, IR temp sensors, and all sorts of stuff, altitude, air pressure, can even do GPS and all sorts
the sensors are quite cheap, Infrared temp sensors that you can aim at your tyres, engine, gearbox, brakes are £6 each.
If I was feeling really clever there is no reason you could not use both holes in the console and fit one big screen,
then you could do

TPMS
Media
Films
Music
Guages
Wifi
Bluetooth
Phone
GPS
OBDII fault system

all with a few breakout boards and remote sensors and a lot of open source software,

Actually got some garage time today so refinished the front brake cooling ducts and also cleaned one of the rear wheels. Used some Dragons breath fallout remover - boy does that stuff live up to it’s name!
Only cleaned the one wheel as I am taking it to the tyre shop tomorrow to have the existing tyre removed- got a screw embedded in the shoulder which means it is toast and cannot be repaired.
Cleaned up the threads on the mounting hardware for the rear ARB and then broke out the angle grinder with linishing disc so I could dress the welds on the modified front shocks for the Bilstein B6 conversion. With that done, I dropped them and a few other parts off for powder coating.
A good day. :D

You didn't look hard enough :D

I took the exhaust manifold off to get better access to somewhere around the rear of the engine where oil is leaking. It's leaking on to the exhaust and it stinks.
Loathed to spend any money/excessive time on it as I have a rebuilt engine to go in, I had a good look, couldn't source the leak and put it all back together and took it for a spin after putting a can of Wynn's engine stop leak in the oil.

Now I need to bleed the system too
