Im getting Clutch Judder whilst driving in traffic in My S2, but fine otherwise. The car is low mileage so I'm guessing the clutch is not worn out, is there anyway to cure this?

Could be the rubber centre beginning to give up, or it could be some buildup on the flywheel.

If it is caused by buildup, then it can be sometimes rectified by slipping the clutch on a couple of hill starts, this removes the buildup (rust, clutch material or even dirt) that can cause judder

Hi there,Thanks for the reply, I guess if its the rubber that is giving up then its a new clutch? I will try the Hill start/slipping the clutch to see if that has any effect!

Cheers

Greg

If the rubber centre is giving up, then you will need a new clutch.

Ways to tell if the rubber centre is giving up..

1. Shunting feeling experienced during deceleration or acceleration
2. Juddering when setting off from a standstill
3. If you reach into the gearbox end bell housing and grab hold of the coupling, you can turn it more and a degree or two (engine off and car out of gear)
