I put stainless braided hose on my Beetle. I think thats nylon tube ..soemone said from aircraft industry ? anyway its been OK for 5 years. I actually fitted it on the underside of the floor pan where you can see it....not hidden away getting up to no good ! I see most of the stuff on ebay is from Hong Kong ...

Sorry about the delay.

They run the length of the underside and are braided lines.

I'm also interested to know of peoples views as to whether flexible pipes running along the bottom of the car will be o.k legally, or if they should be solid to prevent them hooking on anything ?

Of course they will its just that they (obviously) need more clips so as to avoid sag and will not resist heat as well however you shouldnt be running them close to heat anyway.

Dont forget when connecting rubber/flexible pipes to metal/copper the end should be flared or rimmed and proper fuel hose clamps used so as to prevent the pipes blowing off or you can get high pressure fuel spraying around under the car

SVA test requires brake & fuel lines clipped every 300mm or closer, even in solid pipe. I'd probably halve that for flexibles.

Yes , only 81p from Porsche , the metal ones are discontinued.

I've reused the rubber guides but had to modify them to take the larger diameter braided pipes.

i'm not sure the guy at Pirtec just matched my old ones , but all the fittings are 6mm or 1/4" bore, which is the same as the original, the pipes are either 1/4" or 5/16" bore.
