While I have internet out here in darkest Wales I thought that I'd report on the fun being had by both myself and the car on these lovely Welsh roads....Let's just say that this car is pure awesome...doesnt miss a beat no matter what the road or it's condition which btw has been pretty wet over the last few days. What I really love is how effortlessly she eats up the steep inclines...I can be in 3rd or 4th..at 40..makes little difference which and with an open road in front of me just let the throttle sit at 20% and let the boost rise which it does extremely quickly...before you know it I'm hitting 3 figures with only 20% throttle and straight up a bloody big hill....the torque in this motor just blows me away......happy days... They are great roads out there aren't they Pete Can't imagine how you keep 400bhp under control Went out in the 968 for a meal last night which was very enjoyable bar a couple of hiccups with the car On the M56, middle lane, 70mph and she just cut out.... No coughs or splutters like you'd get with fuel pressure dropping just an instantaneous cut out... and then a second or two later as I'm "hazards on" all comes back to life.... It then happened again on a country road at about 40mph and she coasted to a halt and the ignition lights illuminated once halted. Into Park and then restarted straight away.... On the way home she was faultless... Think some checks are needed but where to start |

I've only ever had one fault like that some years ago, it turned out to be a bad connection from the ref sensors multiplugs at the back of the engine. might be worth pulling the two plugs apart and giving them a good clean, they might be a little corroded of the plug tabs may not be holding the plugs closed properly. Pete Thanks Pete, I think the plug on my CPS may be a touch brittle - whether that could cause a cut out and be fine again I'm not sure but I've ordered a new plug anyway off fleabay... |

Only one ref sensor on 968 and it will run with a completely smashed CPS just ask PAD944968 Still thinking ignition switch |

I think Waylander likely spot in with his ignition switch suspect - the ring of contact pins behind lock barrel. To test, try wiggling key when engine running but car parked, and see if you can induce cut out in run position. |

Ref brake bleeding. I use a pressure bleeder (Gunson) with a remote reservoir and connect to a tyre deflated to 20psi. The bleed nipples are connected to a dual pipe reservoir with non return valves not sure of the make but I got it from Design911 and a Snap-on 11mm pipe union spanner of the bay. It did take a while and quite a lot of fluid as the abs pump and master cylinder had both been off. It's still not rock hard so will give it another go. |
