My car has the 10 speaker upgrade but I purchased standard door cards and modified them...I am after a stock look but still being able to tell there is a upgraded system in there......anyway I started to mod the speaker holders the lower is standard the upper one is after loads of fibreglass sanding and paint!

After cleaning all the old adhesive from the doors I added the dynamat (rip off version)sound deadening this will also act as a water shedder aswell as improving the sound quality........This is my first install so feel free to comment good or bad !!

Getting there...this is the point That I put my hand on the soldering iron..... :x ...moved it out of the way and then did it again :x :x
speakers mounted they are a perfect fit.....I mounted the tweeter using the standard porsche mount and grille but was able to set it at a slight angle to face into the car

I should mention the mounds I added to the speaker holder are for LED'S which are operated from a switch on the center console (the old rear wiper switch)...I tried to get a photo but I can not swich the flash off on my wife's camera ...but it looks good...
the finished effect bellow, still got the amp...rears and subs to do these will follow the same a similar design

I’m not sure I understand the LEDs, but that’s a nice clean looking install—well done so far!

The LED'S look good on the crossovers and iluminate the foot well when on.......I am going to remove the ones on the speakers it's one step to far...

And then if she's like my wife she'll reach over and turn the stereo down so that you have to listen to her and not your favourite Madness cassette....

.... oh, I see you said 'one step too far' ... I read it as 'one step beyond' :D

What sound deadin did u use? And how did you fix it? Also the window switch cable? Is that the proper route 4 it? As mine currently comes up though the standard speaker hole, as iv also got the ten speacker upgrade.

I used stuff called "Brown Bread" it is on Ebay basicly a copy of Dynamat but at 1/3rd the price each door cost me £13 plus carraige.....it is self adhesive foil with some sort of butyl backing, it works!

Far as I know the window switch cable route is correct......the iluminated lock rods share the same insulation and the harness is clipped onto the lower glass channel in 2 places the top one being well above the speaker opening!
