Hey everyone,

I'm Matt, 17, from Warwickshire.

Me and my Dad are the proud(ish) owners of a white Porsche 944 Lux, with plans of restoring it, selling it, and getting a 928, as it's his dream car.

Went to the Porsche show at Gaydon on Sunday and my Dad became a member, so I'm joining the forum... As he can't handle the technology.

Hope to come to as many of the central meets as we can, and we'll be sticking around.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Nice to see a 'youngster' with a passion for Porsche.

The only criticism you are likely to receive is that you bought a white one, tut tut. Red (as you will find out) is fastest.

Where abouts in "central" are you? There is a vibrant community around here, with South Central, Central and East Midlands regions. Check out the regional pages : http://www.tipec.net/community.php

Edited: I'll read it properly next time - Warwickshire, so you're probably nearest to Central at Earlswood.

The membership secretary will place you in your nearest region anyway.

Pictures are always appreciated, so it'd be nice to see some when you have them, and the advice here for resto work is second to none.

Hope to see you around.

Enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Lucky for me, and my Dad, we didn't buy it.

We were given it.
It was my uncles, who unfortunately passed away. My auntie tried selling it, but couldn't, so we offered it to us, and we couldn't do anything but accept really, it's a Porsche after all.

It's in fairly good condition at the moment.
The near side brake is binding slightly, and there is a leak from the outside in, which I suspect is down to the bit of seal that's moved from the windscreen.

There's not alot of rust; a few hard to notice spots dotted about the car.

Instead of whoring your internet with the several million pictures of the car I have, here's the link to my photo album of the car on Facebook... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1 ... 62b3efec86

Nice car! I'm sure you will enjoy the experience of working on it with your dad. Have you passed your test? What's the time scale on getting it back on the road?

The car's not off the road... I won't let it get to that state!

I'm trying to pull my finger out and have it all finished by next years Le Mans 24hr race, as we're going to that, and I'd like to have a minter for that.

Shouldn't be too hard, man power wise, it's just my money situation.

I haven't passed my test yet, just learning, slowly. I have more important financial commitments, like the Porsche, but even that's a struggle.

Hope you get it sorted for Le Mans next year.
If mines behaving itshould be there as well.
