HI Jon & welcome
Smokey Bacon? That'll be because it's hot Pork

Only things I can think of that fit that are clutch or brakes. Mal adjusted clutch or sticky brake calliper maybe?

PS Smaller pictures would be a good idea so they fit on the screen better. Irfanview.com is a free downloaded utility that can resize pics etc./

Jim / Dave

Thanks for the tips - I am thinking a good old service should do the trick and if it is water in the heat exchangers hopefully me using the car more than it has been will help that. My main concern was turning into a high speed fire ball, which sounds unlikely...

Hopefully see you guys around at some point.

Cheers

Jon

ps smaller photo definitely works better - I was gutted after getting the file size down enough it turned out so big on the page!

Hi Jon that's a beautiful early 911.

Can't suggest anything re the sizzling smell as I drive a 'kettle' with engine at wrong end!

Check for oil leaks around heat exchangers from cam covers.
Has the car been in storage? If so check for any remains of small rodents. Say this from experience when i had a mouse decide to store some of the dogs dry food in the air pipe from heat exhanger. Think they got in through the heater valves. Result was a BBQ smell as the food fryed inside the heat exchangers  Still had black dust coming out the following summer. Had the take off heat exchangers and shake remains out. Solution no food stored in garage and traps each winter, not happened since :)
